Booker

a.k.a. Booker "da Looker," Mr. Cutie Patootie Pants, B-Man and any other endearing terms that happen to pop into my head on any given day at any given moment.

Booker Stats:
Name: CH Hound Hollow's Fantom Fury
Height:  13.5 inches
Weight:  55 lbs
Birthdate: July 15, 2003
Color: Red and White
AKC Number: HP06763302
Sire: CH Obie's Just Sue Me of Hound Hollow
Dam: Obie's Hound Hollow Thelma Lou
Physical Characteristics: Excellent topline and tail set, excellent rear, nice tight feet, good ribs and underline, heavy in bone.

Temperament: Sweet, sweet, sweet! Incredible attitude and full of confidence. Easy going, but will stand up for himself, easy to train, incredibly willing to please, affectionate, a little too food motivated -- you have to watch your fingers and he will steal food if given the opportunity -- loves his cats, good with people of all shapes and sizes. Booker's attitude and showmanship played a significant role in earning him his championship title. Though he can be a clown at home, in the ring he's very professional and all business. He takes offense if I try to "practice" with him outside the ring.  Booker does very well in his agility training but I think he'll really excell in tracking so we'll be turning our attention in that direction.

Biography

Booker is without a doubt the sweetest boy you could ever want to meet. From the first day we met Booker and I have had a special bond that very well may have started twenty years ago.

Booker and I met on a beautiful October afternoon in 2003 on the day he was to come home with me. Joan, his breeder handed over his leash and though she and her grand daughter were in tears, Booker bravely never looked back. He was such a good puppy that after only a couple of weeks I trusted him with the full run of the house.  He has been the easiest dog in the world to train because he's so willing to please - quite the opposite of Kirby and Bobbi.

Since pedigree is such an important part of putting together a breeding plan, I soon found myself immersed in research to find out where my boy came from and much to my surprise I came across a kennel name that sounded familiar -- Woodstock.  As it turns out, Hoover, who I bought all those years ago in San Antonio, Texas in 1985, also came from Woodstock lines!

Booker finished his championship title in about 43 showings under 10 different judges -- not bad considering my inexperience. In fact, our very first year on the circuit we came home with only one point! I minor pointed him out our second year, won a single major our third year, and won our second major and championship title early in our fourth year. Upon completion of his title, we began training for agility. Booker did very well in his training until he developed a persistant deep tissue injury in his shoulder. He's been sidelined since February so he can heal, and we'll begin training for tracking competition this Spring and Summer. Booker shows a natural inclination for tracking and it should be a lot easier on his shoulders than agility.
