Week 19
 Just Gorgeous George!

Week 17
Get a load of this Gorgeous George! He sure is growing up beautifully and I'm so proud of him. I can't wait to get this puppy in the ring this Fall! His first show will probably be at the Potomac Basset Hound Club Specialty in mid-October.

Week 16

Gorgeous George!

George is a terrific cuddler, but he's definately got a bit of bassetude to him! Of all the pups, he's the one most likely to get into trouble. I should have known since he was always in trouble with Mom as a wee pup. Even so, I just love this puppy - and he knows it!

Week 15
I'm really liking the way George is growing up and he too will be staying on at the House o'Rapscallion and hopefully making his way into the show ring eventually.

Week 10
I still can't believe how BIG this puppy is getting - and I don't mean big as in growing up - I mean big as in substance! Just a few short weeks ago, this guy was struggling to survive and now he just keeps getting more and more dense. He used to have a bit of a feminine head piece, but his skull has really broadened and he's looking quite masculine these days.

Week 8

George is an other surprise this week. Last week he'd gained more weight than anyone and he's suddenly filling out quite nicely, he's actually got some substance to him!  I think he's making a run on Purple for her Heaviest of the Bunch title. Of course, he and Purple are the best of buds, so it's a friendly rivalry.

Week 6
George slays me with his cute little face.  All he has to do is sit back on his haunches and look at me and I somehow find myself doing his bidding. It's uncanny this power he holds over me.  I think he must have been a powerful wizard in a previous life or something.

 Week 4

Orange has the key to my heart and he knows it! He's still the smallest, but he really chows down at feeding time and is not shy. He's incredibly out going and jovial, likes to throw down with the big guys and exhibits a joie de vie that only someone who's had a close call or two with death can have. Like I said the last time, he's got a tremendous will to live and a lot of fight in him. I just adore this puppy. And he likes to be called George -- I don't know why, none of the others have names besides the color of their collars, but for some reason he's become George, not Orange.

Week 2
What can I say -- Orange Boy and I have been through a lot together, so I think we've gotten to know each other pretty well. Orange Boy is always the first to get to me and he'll push through anyone who gets in his way. Momma's boy?  Maybe a little, but he's spent more one-on-one time with me than any of the others and I can say with some certainty, Orange Boy is very people oriented because of his experience.  And, he's proven to be a fighter as well. He's got a tremendous will to live and a very sweet temperament to boot.

Oh yeah -- and did I mention smart?

At each feeding they all kind of line up for the bottle. This morning Orange Boy was the third to get his bottle. He drank his fill, I burped him, set him in the whelping box and picked up the next puppy. A couple of puppies later, there's Orange Boy back in line for a second serving!

Orange Boy likes to take off and do laps around the whelping box, though lately he's been hanging out at the milk bar a LOT more, probably because he's in training for the Whelping Box Marathon and needs to keep up his strength to go the distance.
